this is not about 9/11...

i lied. it kind of is... kind of.

it's late and i'm tired...

i re-read this noticing a few things that i'm kind of vague about, but i still think it serves it's purpose.

first: vote. i don't care what you think about activism or where you're allegiances lay or whether you have faith in the system or not or whatever... fucking vote. it's the first and easiest step towards activating change and only lazy, distracted retards will try to muster an excuse as to why they didn't. really it's easy. get a copy of what's on the ballot, look up where you're registered (if you're not - find out how) and find the closest polling location. find a computer with internet access to do the latter. if you can't find one then i don't want you voting anyway. also, research the candidates, referendums, amendments, etc. know what you're doing.

second: with elections coming up and the attack ads dominating the space between jeopardy and double jeopardy (usually reserved for ads pertaining to the 60+ demographic), people finally seem comfortable talking about all things political, which has steered more than one conversation from the current administration, to iraq, to terrorism and eventually back to 9/11 conspiracy stuff. i hate the word conspiracy, because it is so easily connotated to words like "wackjob", but i've come to terms with the fact that if half of what i read these days is really true, then yes, a "secret, deceptive event or plot by a covert alliance of powerful people or organizations (rather than as an overt activity or as natural occurrence)" has occurred... so conspiracy is pretty a propos. still, doing anything with this information or 'theory' seems like an intensely uphill battle anyway you look at it, and in the end you begin to wonder how feasible it might be to actually seek judgment for those responsible. how long would it take? what kind of resources would have to be invested (and ultimately lost) in order to secure such an outcome? how much? what would the fallout be? one of the more troubling things i find in all of the 9/11 'truth' projects is the lack of an agenda, much less a goal, which gives way to confusion as to why such an ugly plot was unearthed in the first place. i still believe in it in a sense, but i'm much more concerned with progress, real actual progress, rather than spending the next five or so years debating the outlying, almost certainly negligible details. truth be told, these particulars are continuously debated when so many larger questions remain unanswered that i wonder whose spearheading half of these projects, be it film, print or other on-line media. BUT! don't lose hope... please keep a roving eye out for any developments regarding 9/11 stuff, as i am only saying that i've come to broaden my scope of the whole issue... and i'm beginning to believe that (as with any independent investigation) the road ahead is a long one. bottom line, keep talking about it... which brings me to the next point... and the whole point of this diatribe...

third: what if we could start redirecting attention, or (better yet) take a similar issue (one that already has popular support and vested interest) and start ballasting a new venture that had a higher probability of success? in a nutshell, i'm talking about iraq... but more in a present tense as opposed to concerns of the past (i.e. lies/doubts concerning why we went in the first place). the focus i'm talking about is one of how the war is blatantly mishandled with american tax dollars that end up benefitting private industry/corporations. i raise an eyebrow regarding this variation on an old topic because it seems to be striking a chord with more people than i thought... and it's also much easier to prove and/or vindicate. as with most worthwhile investigations, there is always a light at the end of the tunnel when the lesser details can be exempted from the obvious... and eventually you can follow the money trail wherever it leads. of course, i was prompted to mention this specifically because of a film (and a book... more on that in a second) you should straight up buy and make copies for your friends and your friends' friends. long story short, this seems like the best step, if not the most preferred, towards judgement regarding our current administration and various debacles over the past six (although in all likelihood, more than that) years. this has gotten long so... look at the trailer below, go the website here for more information. also google 'brave new films' if you're bored.

fourth: this one's short. i don't believe in god. i'm beginning to find out that i walk a fine line between agnosticism and atheism anymore. what makes me happy is knowing that the book below is on some kind of reputable best-seller's list... and it's the kind that books like this rarely end up on. the one teacher in high-school who told my parents i shouldn't go to college loved this guy, so i wrote him off for a long time. i spent a lot of time looking into his past works and will buy his newest book tomorrow. cnn article here and easy-way-out wikipedia stuff here.

and that's that.
